Sahapon Chootinan born in 1999. Lives and works in Chiang Mai. Sahapon Chootinan is an artist and creative practitioner who works with various media, including motion graphics, photography, still images, digital collages, programming, and interactive media. By utilizing different types of media, he can choose the most suitable ones to tell the stories he is interested in and convey them in the desired style. The combination of storytelling techniques from different disciplines allows him to create a rich narrative experience. The artist is fascinated by the methods of narrating truth, understanding, and the gaps in memories. He interprets these elements in ways that stimulate viewers’ imagination, resulting in the creation of new meanings or new perceptions of truth. The meanings and narratives constructed through data and imagination reflect the fluidity of reality and fiction. I also strive to comprehend and manipulate the control and manipulation of data sets from original narratives, intending to reveal the underlying truths of the story and explore the possibilities of understanding the course of events through these conceptual approaches.

“Facade is likened to a wall or partition that can be closed or screened to provide privacy for users, or to separate the area from adjacent buildings or homes. It is also used to maintain a balance between the external and internal spaces of a building.”

Artist Statement and Aesthetic Practice : *( same as The Unarchiver (2018) )

The earlier work on the previous exhibition site influenced the conception of The Unarchiver. Consider using documented or historical tools to answer questions about inspection for use in control by carrying out an examination of the content’s control t o develop a new set of beliefs and comprehensions. By creating archived documents to be recompiled and woven into new narratives, one can generate new narratives. This is analogous to writing the history of a state of mixed reality, where the real and the imaginary coexist. In exploit of the imagination that the state wants to be archives to control what can and cannot be said in each historical period. However, these evidences are interpreted by the state’s citizens in order to support the set of beliefs that the state would then establish. The objective is not to mislead the audience, but rather to attempt to undermine their structural and ideological foundations. Methodology for examining societal facts that varies depending on individualistic level. The privacy that comprehends the context that appears to criticises the truth’s medium. This works comprise of facts and use the work to question the state’s subversion of created and subverted facts. Information is used as a political tool to portray facts that, in the context of the time, result in a decay of power by design.

The installation is a digital collage. Picture frames with varying contents and specifics are lined up and will be used to hang the artwork. Sometimes it appears that each picture is almost unrelated, while others appear to be very related; however, when put together, and with a thin narrative thread, the audience or viewers are able to piece together hundreds of the stories of each picture. Such assembling all of the story puzzles on this wall with some guidance in which are the experiences of each audience, as is the work of weaving the events on the wall together. Everyone will encounter their differ to varying degrees and for the purpose of framing There is a direct space for individuals to arrange the story themselves, and each individual has a unique preference for reading from left to right or right to left. Each individual could well begin with non-linear approach to order of the works which would results in different subjective experiences.

“This work consists of 4 main parts as follows:

  1. Digital Collage Work:

    • Creation of a comprehensive image using various pictures with different meanings or contents.
    • Establishing connections of meaning between each image.
  2. Small LCD Screen for Text Display:

    • Featuring a small screen displaying text.
    • Used to link text with images in the collage.
  3. Large LCD Screen for Generated Collage:

    • Showcasing a large screen displaying the collage image generated based on AI responses.
  4. Portable Computer for AI Conversation:

    • A portable computer capable of conversing with AI trained on data from the collage.

Functionality of the work:

  • When viewers enter, they start viewing the collage images and establishing connections of meaning between each image.
  • Additionally, emphasis is placed on linking images with text on the small LCD screen.
  • Viewers can ask questions to the AI and engage in conversations about the collage.
  • AI responses are displayed on the small computer screen and forwarded to various parts of the collage on the large screen.
  • The arrangement of responses is distributed across different sections of the collage to highlight the nuanced nature of the answers.

Artist Statement and Aesthetic Practice :

The project involves playing with old archive documents, starting with a visit to antique shops in Chiang Mai province. I found documents from a law firm discarded among the items. These documents seem highly reliable but have been interpreted by a third party, an artist. The artist couldn’t comprehend the events of the legal case, prompting them to experiment and create a piece based on these documents.

The invention of the internet is a phenomenon which connects the world together and makes data equally accessible for everyone. For this reason, the internet breaks the limit of space, and allows people to communicate across the world.

Turning communication towards the internet, the number of digital population is continually increasing as well as the creation of identity in online platforms. Fill in a form to verify identity is something necessary. Personal information, such as email, phone number, name, and address, have to be exposed, if one wants to access that online platform.

The interaction of the online identity produces massive information which turns the space into big data. Although we cannot see that information, it is always published and preserved on the internet.

Data, therefore, plays a significant role in globalization as it becomes economically valuable. Having data in possession means having authoritative power. The more data one have, the more benefit one get.

 

With or without consent, we turn into digital labourers, producing a great number of data for the use of those who have authority in order to exploit ourselves.”

Artist Statement and Aesthetic Practice :

The Archiver’s concept of work is influenced by the work of first-person questioning, interfering for use in control, studying the control of a set of ideas using tools such as documentation or history, creating a new set of beliefs and understanding by making a documentation. Collecting permanent histories and hundreds of new stories to create new stories through reality and imagination.

This is compared to writing a state’s history in which facts and fantasies are statistically used to control what can be said and what cannot be said in each period of history. But those evidences were interpreted into reality through the people of the state to support set of beliefs that the state will create. The goal is not to mislead the people, but trying to destroy the foundations of concepts, structures, methodologies for looking at facts in society which depends on the subjective understanding of the context through which it appears that attempts to critique the medium of truth and use the work to question the destruction of the state-created reality and destroy the use of information as a tool

Politically, it is done to render a picture of fact that, in that context loses its objective power. where it should be. That being said, it is still link to the original concept of the previous work. This work portray about experiential possibilities or how to tell a story in the form of work. Differently, the work requires possibilities in other ways. The researcher wants to pose a challenging question about what is Time-based media, which is the media that is referenced on time. There is a timeline dividing the story beginning, middle, and end. The researcher wants to intervene in the timeline to create possibilities and results that are similar or different from the collage work. The work of the collage work are hung in the form of frames arranged in a row, each of which has content and different in details. At the same time it seems that each picture may be barely related or some pictures seem very related. When put together it present can be resemble onto each and another with thin line of storytelling.

The viewers who come to thread the story of each picture together as if they are putting together a puzzle of the whole story in this wall, with the experience of each viewer. Clearly we can see that the collage are operate beyond the timeline. Therefore, it will results in telling the story in any sequence output. That in which researcher will work the animation that comes out in a format that is not on the timeline or can interfere with the timeline itself. The work therefore comes out as an interactive animation that the audience can choose to see the sequence of events. In any situation it is not always necessary to start from the first event to the second. An unnecessary sequence of events gives rise to the possibility of different perceptions. It also includes the fact that each event proceeds in its own circumstance and what is perceived in the event will be different as well through the subjectivity of interactor.

Artist Statement and Aesthetic Practice :

The concept of Parental Surveillance vs Government Surveillance (NIA Program) is to ask questions about surveillance in order to control people in government, how and where parental supervision in government can be done, control and make it possible beyond what it should be, by studying from the smallest unit, the family institution, and leading to a wider image in the state unit, by studying through the context of the family itself, with the father as the national filtering unit, acting as a surveillant and interference into privacy. In order to change the person in government into the right person according to the state’s wishes.

and find ways to deal with what the state considers unsafe and in the family unit, there is a mother who oversees and takes care of the well-being of the family. One is to over governing a life and protect the family without any danger or risk. But when the parents’s actions are too intrusive on the part of the ruling, it may cause discomfort and doubt of intentionality, and the parents argue that it is done for the stability of the institution. Whether family or state, sometimes parential control may go above and beyond and use argument as an excuse and questioned whether the inspection is done for the purpose of getting more control. That is beyond reason or not. Recognition system or comparing faces that are the most similar to who in the family in order to get an answer on different stories and events. Different in term of a family story that has been recorded in which will be separated according to each person’s face as well

By work is an interactive installation installed using the Python program. Write a program in building a Terminal, simulating a program, managing or interfering with or storing government operations by giving all personal data, including a phone book. In which when everything is completed, it will be virtual simulation, when provide inputs to register with the system, and soon there will be a phone rang in the group of audience will have a call line in which each person will get different and diverse messages.

Artist Statement and Aesthetic Practice :

The virus (covid-19) has exposed our inequality. In terms of certain social classes, when our precious freedoms are questioned. Equality turned out to be just an ideal.

Another issue of digital inequality that countries overlook is:
The issue of digital literacy and preparedness is the result of many factors, such as inequality in social structure. And the economy, education level, and even age.
This is a series of new issues that have emerged under the umbrella of digital inequality, as mentioned above: Not everyone can effectively use these new technologies, even in their hands, we can see this problem. More specifically, if we think of rural society beyond our background, we are familiar with urban society.

Finally, the government brought us back to the original digital cycle mainly through PromptPay and mobile banking transfer remedies. Dividend again, as the public will register to bind their bank accounts to PromptPay accounts or other mobile banking applications, they need to: Have a mobile phone, it must be a smartphone!

Mathematical equations and social equations.

Concept: The Internet reshapes us through the algorithms we see. Question whether we are truly ourselves, and at the same time, our data is being sold in the era of big data.
As a product, no matter what we do, where we go, or what we want to eat, advertising will rebound onto what we want. Interested

Today, the cyberspace is free, and everyone has more voting rights, which creates a gap. Therefore, the government uses the media gap to create IO to awaken some ideas in society, just like propaganda. So I want to ask a question: Do we really lack online freedom? Because in the end, we can always be controlled by something.

Communication in Thailand used to be conducted through mainstream media and could not engage in interaction or debate. This is known as one-way communication. Make it easier to control one’s beliefs by controlling thoughts or propaganda. Do not ask questions, but when The internet has changed these things, just like in the past, two-way communication and interaction. The questioning of what is happening has prevented the state from intervening in the truth as it did in the past. Information warfare This is to create social trends, track reality, and support what they want.

How important are these identities to society?
